HPW Metallwerk: Thomas Marek becomes CFO

Linz, 16 December 2024 - HPW Metallwerk GmbH (HPW), a manufacturer of high-performance copper wires for e-mobility, wind power and other industrial applications, is announcing changes to the company's management team. Thomas Marek will be the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from 1 January 2025. From 2021 to 2024, Marek worked as Business Development Manager at private equity firm Konstant GmbH, HPW's largest shareholder, where he identified potential investment opportunities and advised the portfolio companies. There, he was also responsible for the strategic development of HPW and played a key role in the company's growth in recent years. He was also a member of the board of a Tyrolean family business for almost 10 years. He holds an MBA in New Business Development from the LIMAK Austrian Business School. As the new CFO, Marek will continue to drive HPW's growth path in the field of e-mobility. Marek takes over the position of CFO from Michael Guger, who is leaving the company by mutual agreement.

Dr Ewald Koppensteiner, CEO of HPW: ‘In Thomas Marek, we have been able to gain a longstanding expert on our company as CFO. Having played a key role in the repositioning of the company in the e-mobility sector on the owner's side at Konstant in recent years, he is very familiar with both our strategic direction and our internal processes in the area of Finance & Controlling. Together, we will continue to expand HPW's international growth path. We would also like to thank Michael Guger for the good, trusting cooperation over the past few years and wish him continued success.’

Thomas Marek, designated CFO of HPW: ‘HPW is active in a rapidly growing future market. In my role as CFO, I look forward to continuing to support HPW's growth path and am convinced that HPW will further expand its strong market position - especially internationally - thanks to its innovative and partly patented technology.’
